German Art Nouveau bracelet with incredible repousse craftsmanship to the panels. European silver of the grade 835, which is lower than Sterling Silver (925) but was the accepted standard at the turn of the last century.
This beautiful Art Nouveau bracelet was bought last year at an antique shop in Berlin. It is a delight as it so full of detail. There are seven panels all linked by neat fold over links. The vaguely rectangular shape in the centre of each panel is surrounded by open swirling metalwork. The standard of craftmanship is extremely high. The clasp is a little unusual as it opens towards you and closes with a click. It has a lovely flower petals pattern engraved on it. Stamped 835 on the clasp.
In excellent vintage condition, but please bear in mind that it is over 100 years old. It has a very bright shiny silver sheen to it.
Dimensions: length 8 1/4" (19cm). Width 5/8" (15mm). Weight 12.1g.
